These terms are a binding agreement between you and Awe Oluwatimileyin (trading as "Papi"), the operator of this service. By creating an account, uploading a manuscript, or otherwise using Papi, you agree to these terms.
Papi is a manuscript-to-book design tool that reads text you provide, generates typography, cover art, and layout, and produces a print-ready and digital edition of your book.
You agree not to misuse the service. In particular, you must not:
You retain ownership of the manuscript text and any inputs you provide. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, and transform that content solely to provide the service to you.
The service itself — software, generated design system components, templates, and branding — remains owned by us. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the outputs of the service for your own book.
You are responsible for the content you upload and for ensuring you have the rights to use it. If a rights-holder complains about content you generated, we may remove that content and, for repeated infringement, suspend or terminate your account.
Papi uses generative AI to produce cover art, layout choices, and editorial metadata. AI outputs may be inaccurate or imperfect and are not a substitute for professional editorial, legal, or other advice. You are responsible for reviewing outputs before publishing or distributing them, and for verifying you have the rights to use any inputs you supply.
You must not use the service to generate illegal content, deepfakes of real people without their consent, hate speech, malware, or content designed to jailbreak or misuse third-party systems.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Payment, billing, tax, cancellation, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. See our Refund Policy for a summary.
Papi Pro is a monthly subscription billed at $7.99 USD per month (plus applicable taxes) via Paddle. Your subscription automatically renews each month until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from the subscription portal linked from your account — access to Pro features continues through the end of the paid period.
Pro benefits include unlimited unlocked books, EPUB and DOCX export, clickable links inside paragraphs, image styling options, and one free professional book cover request per calendar month. The free-cover benefit is subject to fair use: one request per calendar month per account. Unused requests do not carry over.
If your renewal payment fails, we may pause access to Pro features until payment succeeds. Persistent non-payment may result in cancellation of your subscription.
We work to keep Papi available and reliable, but we do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the service for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. Where reasonable, we will give you notice and a chance to resolve the issue.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability under these terms is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, including lost profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by our negligence.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the service or by email. Continued use of Papi after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
